RADFORD – Vetro e Verita’, an exhibition by contemporary Italian photographers Lorenza Lucchi Basili and Daniele Jost, opens Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Radford University Martin Gallery, Powell Hall 200. The opening reception is Thursday, Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. in the gallery.

Lucchi Basili and Jost share an interest in glass as a subject.  RU Museum Director Preston Thayer says RU has paired their works with examples of mid-century Modern art glass from Murano to suggest the broad resonance of glass in Modern Italian art.

Thayer says, “We are excited to have this exhibition. We are borrowing a dozen works of art glass from collectors in Richmond and Virginia Beach. Also, Lucchi Basili is coming from Padua to attend the opening reception and we invite everyone to come and meet the artist.”

The exhibition continues through Friday, Nov. 16. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and noon - 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
