RADFORD – Radford University has selected Trae Cotton as the new associate vice president and dean of students. He will be responsible for promoting and facilitating student learning, engagement and development outside of the classroom and for enhancing the quality of life for RU students.

Trae CottonCotton comes to RU from California State University Channel Islands, where he served as interim dean of student life, associate dean of student life, resident director and founding director of student development. He has more than 10 years of experience in higher education at such institutions as Walden University, Florida Gulf Coast University and Edison Community College.

“This was a highly competitive search,” said Norleen Pomerantz, vice president for student affairs. “Trae brings with him an extensive knowledge of student development, and we look forward to welcoming him to Radford University.”
