Hagen Appointed Acting Biology Department Chair
RADFORD Radford University biology professor Joel Hagen has been appointed Acting Chair in the Department of Biology in the College of Science and Technology.
“We have worked very well together in the biology department for so long and we have already built a special bond. We are all on the same page and want to be the best in our respective fields to ultimately expose our students to the best education we have to offer.” says Hagen. “My primary goal is to work with the department to revise our curriculum to better serve the educational needs of students entering graduate programs and the job market.” Hagen began his career at Radford University in 1989. One of Hagen’s projects is the “Study Abroad in England and Scotland” program where students have the opportunity to see first hand where Charles Darwin and other renowned scientists studied. Hagen earned a bachelor of arts degree with a double major in Natural Sciences and Government from St. John’s University, a master of science degree and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Oregon State University. |
