RADFORD – Radford University’s 2007 - 2008 visual and performing arts season begins Friday, Aug. 24, with a concert by the Virginia Commission for the Arts ensemble Duo Firenze featuring RU music professor Robert Trent and wife Pamela S. Trent. The concert is at 8 p.m. in the Norwood Room of the Bondurant Center for the Arts, 1129 East Main St., Radford.

The award-winning duo, performing original music from the 19th century, will present a piece on national themes as composed by Hummel and Giuliani. The ensemble’s music is performed on period instruments including Viennese fortepiano, 10-stringed Scherzer guitar and features the terz-guitar.

Admission is free and open to the public.
