Gold ADDYs Awarded to Four RU Students

RADFORD -- Four Radford University graphic design students have received Gold ADDYs for their entries in the District 3 competition sponsored by the Advertising Federation of the Roanoke Valley (Ad Fed). The four were among six RU students who received ADDYs at the recent local awards ceremony in Roanoke.

Ad Fed is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to advertising. Members include those affiliated with graphic design, marketing, television, radio, photography, printing and web design.   

Winners were:

• Senior Kevin Irwin of Springfield, Direct Marketing category, “Element Skateboarding Mini Catalog;”

• Adult Non-Degree Seeking Student Christina O’Connor of Blacksburg, Consumer or Trade Publication Magazine Advertising category, “Arne Jacobsen Furniture Magazine Ad;”

• Junior Benjamin Rush of Spotsylvania, Editorial Design Series category, “Self Experience.”

• Fall 2007 graduate Brad Oakley of Centreville, Elements of Advertising Illustration category, “Vector Mobil Ad.”

District 3 encompasses Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The winning entries will be part of the national ADDY competition in Atlanta this June.
