Phi Beta Lambda Chapter Picks Up 11 State Leadership Conference Awards
RADFORD The Radford University chapter of Phi Beta Lambda recently participated in the State Leadership Conference in Richmond, receiving two first place awards and nine second place awards. Thirteen chapters involving more than 120 delegates, including representatives from Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia, competed in various events at the conference. “As faculty advisor to Phi Beta Lambda, I am proud of the latest achievements of our chapter,” said Prahlad Kasturi, professor of economics and faculty advisor to Phi Beta Lambda. The winners of the 2008 State Leadership Conference competition are as follows:
The RU Phi Beta Lambda Chapter was led by president Keaka Kimi at the conference. “I feel proud of my organization. Becoming president of Phi Beta Lambda this year, I knew it would be hard to follow in the footsteps of past presidents,” said Kimi. “With the help of a great officer team and active members, we have been rewarded. This has been the most awards Phi Beta Lambda has received since Dr. Kasturi became advisor back in 2002. I couldn’t be any happier.”
