RU Hosts Faculty Lecture Series April 8-9

RADFORD -- The eighth annual Faculty Lecture Series will be held Tuesday, April 8 - Wednesday, April 9, in the Bonnie Hurlburt Student Center Auditorium. Four presentations of original scholarly work by RU faculty members were selected for the series.

Tuesday, April 8, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
Professor of Criminal Justice Tod Burke: Examining Teaching Strategies for Effective Student Learning: Are We Really Making a Difference?
Assistant Professor of English Don Cunningham: Law and Order in the Age of the Samurai

Wednesday, April 9, 3 - 4:30 p.m.
Assistant Professors of Social Work Etty Vandsburger and Rana Duncan-Daston: The Effects of the Poverty Simulation, an Experimental Learning Modality, on Students' Understanding of Life in Poverty
Professor of Geography Grigory Ioffe: Understanding Belarus, 'Europe's Last Dictatorship'

The Faculty Lecture Series, sponsored by the Faculty Development Center, is open to faculty, students, staff and the general public. Admission is free.
