The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations works to secure monetary and in-kind support from corporations, foundations and organizations to assist the university’s programs and scholarships. With private support, Radford University can provide cutting edge resources for educating tomorrow’s leaders.

In 2004, 62 different corporations, foundations and organizations contributed $10,426,902 in gifts over $5,000 while 608 gave $727,899 in gifts under $5,000. Highlights from 2004 include a $8.4-million gift from Carilion of the Saint Albans property.  The property transfer now makes this area known as Radford University ’s Business Technology Park .

Other past and present notable corporate and foundation support includes funds from the C.E. Richardson Foundation, Virginia Health Care Foundation, Intergraph Mapping, Scottish Rite Foundation, New River Health Foundation, Danaher Motion Technologies, King Pharmaceuticals,  Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Chartwells, Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation, Medical Facilities of America, Roanoke Electric Steele, SunTrust, First National Bank, Wachovia, McGlothlin Foundation, Kresge Foundation, Jessie Ball duPont Fund, Verizon, Thurman Foundation and the McGowan Foundation among many others. Their investments truly reflect Radford University ’s motto, Investing in Lifetimes.

On campus, we work closely with the deans, department chairs and faculty to ensure that the full range of possible support is considered for projects and programs. We also serve as a clearinghouse to ensure that proposals address institutional priorities and that multiple proposals are not being sent to the same prospective funding source.
