Top Throws Highlight Highlander Performances At Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. - Two Radford throwers finished in the top three in the men's hammer throw to highlight day two at the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track at NC State Saturday. (Complete Results)

Brian Richotte placed second with a throw of 60.70 meters. Jeremiah Spence's throw of 57.92 put him in third place.

Tiffany Evans was the top RU women's finisher, placing sixth in the women's hammer throw with 52.58 meters. Tricia Benson threw the hammer 45.46 meters to place 17th.

Sean McGuire threw 43.00 meters in the men's javelin throw, placing 13th. Amy Marshall garnered a 15th place finish in the women's javelin throw with a 36.28 meters.

Joel Hanlon placed 11th in the men's 1500 meter run with a 4:01.36.

As a team, the Highlanders placed seventh with a 42.13 in the men's 4 x 100 meter relay and 12th with a 49.86 in the women's 4 x 100 meter relay. Radford finished the women's 4 x 200 meter relay in 1:43.85 to place eighth. RU also placed 11th in the men's 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:18.25 and 12th in the women's 4 x 400 meter relay with a 3:57.75.

Radford will next compete on April 2 at the Liberty Invitational in Lynchburg, Va.
