Nava Qualifies for 1500 Meter Finals

Gainesville, Fla. -- Senior Goran Nava (Castello Di Brianza, Italy) finished with a time of 3:49.54 to qualify for the finals of the 1500 meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Regionals on Friday at Percy Beard Stadium on the campus of the University of Florida.

Nava will run at approximately 6:23 p.m. on Saturday in the finals. The top five finishes will qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Senior Maurika Quarles (Manassas, Va.) and freshman Jeremiah Spence (Riner, Va.) also competed on Friday in the 400 hurdles and hammer throw respectively. She finished with a time of 1:00.91 and Spence tossed 168-07. Both did not qualify for their respective finals.

Tiffany Evans (Dumfries, Va.) will be in competition on Saturday evening when she gears up for the shot put at 6:00 p.m.
