Nava Post School Records at Georgia Tech Invitational

Atlanta, Georgia -- Four Highlanders competed at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.

For the men, senior Goran Nava (Castello Di Brianza, Italy) had a fifth place time of 1.49.66 to break his own school record of 1:50.55 in the 800 meter run. Nava grabbed another school record in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:44.07.

Jeremiah Spence (Riner, Va.) placed 14th in the hammer throw with a distance of 52'70".

On the women's side freshman Tiffany Evans (Dumfries, Va.) posted an 11th place spot in the shot put with a distance of 45'01.30" while senior teammate Maurika Quarles (Manassas, Va.) finished 13th in the 400 meter hurdles landing a time of 1:00.58.

Next on the Highlanders schedule is the NCAA Regional Championships. They will travel to Gainesville, Fla. on May 28 and 29.
