Highlanders Compete at Father Diamond Open
Evans Improves on School Record in Shot Put

Fairfax, Va. -- Radford's track and field teams competed at the Father Diamond Open over the weekend at George Mason University. Freshman thrower Tiffany Evans (Dumfries, Va.) continued her impressive campaign and the Highlanders earned two individual titles and totalled eight top-three finishes.

Evans improved on her own shotput record with a toss of 44'11.75", finishing third. She also claimed first place in the weight throw (55'07.25"). Teammate Ashley Camden (Corunna, Ontario, Canada) finished behind her in second with a throw of 46;09.25".

On the men's side, Jeremiah Spence (Riner, Va.) earned the other top finish with distance of 51'08.50 in the weight throw. Also, Dilyn Gerber (Camden, Mich.) finished third in the event with a toss of 46;07.50".

Irvin White (Christiansburg, Va.) and Jared Saunders (Christiansburg, Va.) earned top three's in the jumps. Bolden placed third in the long jump (23'00.25"), while Saunder earned second in the triple jump with a leap of 44'00.75". Andre McMillan (Newark, Del.) picked up a third place in the 200 with a time of 22.81.

Radford will travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the Tar Heel Invitational on Jan. 16 and 17.
