Highlanders Compete at CSU Outdoors Charleston, S.C. Radford’s men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at eh 2002 Charleston Southern Buccaneer Invitational Track Meet this weekend. The Highlanders put in 10 top five finishes, led by two wins by Maurika Quarles in the 400 hurdles (1:05.39) and high jump (1.58m). Latoya Noel and Meghan McLaughlin each earned second place finishes in the high jump and 3000 meters respectively. Noel tied The Citadel's Tara Stephenson, while McLaughlin set a new school record with a time of 10:42.00. Natasha Tyler finished third in the 200 meters as did the 4x400 relay team and the 4x100 finished fourth. On the men's side, Goran Nava, Adam Faulkner and Tim Dutton each placed second in the 800, javelin and 5000 respectively. Rochelle Black was the other top five finisher with a fourth in the 400 hurdles (57.41), while the 4x400 came in fifth. The teams will remain in Charleston for a dual meet with the Buccaneers on March 13. |
