Highlanders Set to Host 15th Annual Fall Classic High School Invitational

Radford, Va. - Radford University’s Cross Country and Track and Field program is set to host the 15th annual Fall Classic High School Invitational this Saturday, September 6 at the Dedmon Center. Over 700 boys and girls, and at least 26 high schools from across the state will be competing this Saturday.

In the boys’ race (red), Justin Hatch of Christiansburg High School will be looking to defend his title after winning last year with a time of 16:47, 11 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. The girls individual and team title, along with the boys’ team title will have new faces. The defending girls’ champion Cate Jackson of Jefferson Forest, along with the boys’ and girls’ teams of Jefferson Forest will not be in attendance this year.

The running begins at 9:30 a.m. with the girls’ developmental race, followed by the boys’ developmental race at 10:00 a.m. Next, will be the girls’ and boys’ white division races at 10:30 and 11:00 a.m., followed by the girls’ and boys red division races at 11:30 a.m. and noon respectively. The white and red races will be over the 5K course, while the developmental races will cover two miles.
