Highlanders Edge Stephen F. Austin, 4-3

Orlando, Fla. -- Radford women’s tennis earned its first victory this spring with a 4-3 victory over Stephen F. Austin. With the win, the Highlanders move to 1-8 overall.

Radford earned the doubles point as the No. 2 team of Camila Nolden (Florianopolis, Brazil) and Caroline Downs (Radford, Va.) and the No. 3 team of Cassandra Price (Deland, Fla.) and Jessica Nixon (Leesburg, Va.) won their matches, 9-7 and 8-3.

In singles play, Downs at No. 3 and Price at No. 5 earned straight set victories. Nixon clinched the victory for the Highlanders coming back from a one set deficit, taking the final two 6-2 and 6-2.

The Highlanders next match will be Wednesday, March 16 vs. Long Island at noon.
