RALEIGH, N.C.. - The Radford women's tennis team lost at NC State Saturday afternoon, falling 7-0 to the Wolfpack..

NC State took an early 1-0 advantage by securing the doubles point. At the No. 1 slot, junior Barbara Orlay and freshman Elin Stahl Johansson blanked Camila Noldin and Cassandra Price, winning eight straight points en route to their sixth win together, 8-0. Following at No. 2, sophomore Agustina Arechavaleta and senior partner Danielle Stadelmann ousted Caroline and Ashton Downs in the longest doubles match of the night. The Wolfpack duo took an early lead and remained strong throughout the remainder of the match to bring in another win, 8-2. In the No. 3 doubles face-off, senior Carmen Torres and freshman Julia Roach faced a challenging match, but pulled together for a win over Daniela Milano and Frances Shirar, 8-3. The Torres/Roach tandem now holds two wins in as many appearances.

In the first solo match, Orlay, ranked No. 121 nationally in singles competition by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, took down Noldin in two sets, 6-1, 6-1. Johansson downed Milano in two sets for her second singles victory, 6-1, 6-1.

Stadelmann closed the door for a Wolfpack win at No. 3 singles, putting NC State up 4-0 to clinch the victory by defeating Caroline Downs, 6-1, 6-0. Roach defeated Ashton Downs at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-0, for her sixth win.

At No. 5 singles, Arechavaleta defeated Price in two sets, 6-1, 6-1, for her third win. Closing out the night at No. 6 singles, Torres blistered through two sets to blank Nixon in her singles debut for the spring, 6-0, 6-0.

Radford was also scheduled to face UNC Wilmington later in the day.
