Women's Tennis Downed by Appalachian State Blacksburg, Va. - Radford’s women’s tennis fell to Appalachian State, 6-1, at the Burrleson-Burrows Tennis Center at Virginia Tech this evening. Junior Caroline Downs (Radford, Va.) for the second straight night earned the lone point for the Highlanders, defeating ASU's Alice Grate, 6-2, 6-1. The Highlanders held there own in doubles as the No. 3 team of Frannie Shirar and Daniela Milano (Sao Paulo, Brazil) won 9-8. The No. 1 team of Downs and Camila Nolden (Florianopolis, Brazil) dropped a tough 9-8 decision. Radford returns to the court on February 13 when it faces Elon in Blacksburg at 3:30 pm.
