Highlanders Fall to The Wildcats, 132-105

Greensboro, N.C. - The Highlanders swimming and diving fall to the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon with a score of 132-105.

Junior Julie Brooks posted the High’s only victory on Saturday afternoon in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:12.55. Brooks also claimed a second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke behind Davidson’s Brigit Barry. Brooks was clocked at 1:01.28 in the event.

Sophomore Kristan Deckert notched two second place finishes in the 1000 and the 500 yard freestyles recording times of 11:03.63 and 5:26.43 respectively. Kyndal Spradlin also grabbed a pair of second place finishes in the 100 yard butterfly (1:01.97) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:10.82) respectively.

In diving, Cora Legere placed third in both the 1 meter and 3 meter totaling points of 133.13 and 137.85 respectively. Michelle Bowser placed fourth in the 1 meter diving with 114.90 points.

Kelly Wallace placed second in the 100 yard freestyle, while Amy Wharen finished third in the event. Wharen also finished third in the 200 yard freestyle.

Jenny Biles finished third twice for the Highlanders once in the 1000 and once in the 500 yard freestyle events. Shauna Bolger also placed a third in the 100 yard butterfly and a third in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The Highlanders will return to action in two weeks as they travel to Landover, Md. to compete in the Northeast Conference Championships Feb. 17-19.
