Radford Drops Tri-Meet to
Wingate and Gardner-Web

RADFORD, Va. - Radford swimming and diving drop tri-meet to Wingate (200.50-69.50) and Northeast Conference member Gardner-Web (196.50-73.50) at the Wingate University Natatorium Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders post a single victory and land six top-five finishes.

Freshman Kyndal Spradlin posted RU's only victory on the afternoon in the 200 yard breaststroke. She edged Wingate's Amy Brugh by eight-hundredths of a second while setting a new pool record time of 2:27.56. Spradlin also finished fourth and sixth in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:09.41) and the 100 yard fly (1:02.07) respectively.

Also placing in the top-five for the Highlanders were Jenny Biles, Kristan Deckert and Amy Wharen. Biles swam a time of 2:18.03 to take third in the 200 yard backstroke and placed fifth in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:13.01. Deckert swam the 200 yard freestyle (2:03.43) to place fourth while teammate Wharen notched fifth in the 200 yard fly (2:20.21).

Sophomore diver Michelle Bowser won the one-meter diving competition with 32.70 points.

The Highlanders 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the NEC will return to the pool next weekend Nov. 19-21 as they travel to Davidson N.C. to swim in the Davidson Invitational.
