Highlanders Finish Fifth at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. - On the final day of the Davidson Invite the Highlanders wrap up with 296 points and a fifth place finish on Sunday afternoon at Davidson’s Cannon Pool. (Complete Results)

RU Freshman Kyndal Spradlin swam a time of 2:30.31 in the 200 breaststroke good for fourth place and right behind JMU sophomore Janel Danchak who posted a time of 2:30.03.

The Highlanders’ Jenny Biles, Amy Wharen and Kristan Deckert posted 10th, 11th and 12th place respectively in the 1650 freestyle relay. Biles also clocked a time of 2:19.57 in the 200 yard backstroke finishing 13th.

In the 200 yard butterfly Amy Wharen and Julie Brooks post times of 2:17.47 and 2:21.78 placing eighth and 13th respectively.

The Highs 400 yard relay team of Brooks, Biles, Libby Heeschen and Bliss grab a ninth place spot with a time of 3:54.69.

The Highlanders finish fifth at the invitational with 296 points. Scores were lead by Gardner-Webb (919) followed by James Madison (879.50), Davidson College (504.50) and College of Charleston (450).

The Highlanders will travel to Sarasota, Fla. on Dec. 30-Jan. 17 for a training trip and will return to compete against Georgia Southern on Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. in Statesboro, Ga.
