Porter Named Big South Co-Player of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. --Radford’s Nikki Porter (Maryville, Tenn.) earned Big South Co-Player of the Week honors, announced the Conference office this afternoon. Porter netted the game-winning goal in RU’s come-from-behind victory over High Point on Oct. 27 and assisted on the Highlanders lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Liberty on Oct. 29.

For the year, Porter has tallied 10 goals and a team best six assists for 26 points. Against High Point, she became just the third HiNikki Porter (courtesy of Foto International)ghlander to surpass the 100-point career mark, in addition to tying for second place with her 40th career goal. The assist against the Lady Flames moved her into fourth on RU’s career assists list with 22.

Porter shared the honor with Birmingham-Southern’s Andria Gray who posted a pair of shutouts in goal over the weekend.

Radford opens the Big South Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 4 against Charleston Southern at 7:30 p.m.
