Radford Places Fifth In Wofford Invitational WOODRUFF, S.C.-- Radford's women's golf team placed fifth out of six teams at the Coca-Cola C2 Wofford Autumn Invitational, shooting a 661 in the 36-hole event which conlcuded Tuesday. Junior Stacy Brewer (Fairfax, Va.) was Radford's top finisher, placing tied for eighth overall with a 159 (81-78). Junior Dana Doganes (Leesport, Pa.) finished in 16th place with a 164 (80-84). Senior Meredith Roberts (Purcellville, Va.), placed third for RU finishing with a 168 (85-83), good enough for a tie for 18th place overall. Senior Keri Reilly (Weedsport, N.Y.) and freshman Amber Garcia Laffitte (Stafford, Va.) closed out the scoring for RU. Reilly tallied a 171 (83-88) to place 23rd overall while Laffitte hit a 181 (84-97) to place 26th overall. Host Wofford won the event with a 627. Gardner-Webb's Tara Watt shot a 149 to take medalist honors. Winthrop, which finished second with a 633 was the other Big South team at the event. Radford's next tournament, a trip to the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa will be the Highlanders' final tournament of the fall. RU heads to the Bucknell Golf Club Oct. 22-24. |
