Highlanders Remain in Seventh Place At Big South Championships DRAPER, Va.-- Radford's women's golf team is in seventh place after day at the 2005 Palmetto Utility Protection Service Big South Conference Championships, played at The Patriot at Grand Harbor. The Highlanders shot a 336 on the first 18 holes, and trail sixth-place Charleston Southern by just five strokes. Senior Meredith Roberts (Purcellville, Va.) remains in the lead for the Highlanders with a 164 (82-82), placing her tied for 26th overall. Junior Dana Doganes (Leesport, Pa.) is in 28th place with a 165 (83-82). Senior Keri Reilly (Weedsport, N.Y.) fired a day-two team high 81 giving her a 166 (85-81), good for 29th place. Junior Stacy Brewer (Fairfax, Va.) rounded out the day in 30th place with a 168 (86-82). Birmingham-Southern paced the eight-team field with a 596 (291-305). Coastal Carolina's Line Cordes leads the field with a 145 (72-73). The tournament concludes Wednesday with Radford's tee times beginning at 8:30 am. The winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. |
