Charleston Southern Defeats Radford Volleyball

RADFORD, Va.--Charleston Southern Volleyball defeated Radford 3-0 (30-21, 30-21, 30-28) Saturday morning at the CSU Field House. (Box Score)

Radford was paced by junior Divona Cox (Virginia Beach, Va.), who had 10 kills and five blocks. Freshman Josie Hanners (Richmond, Va.) had 30 assists. Senior Kate McHugh (North Branford, Conn.) led the RU defense with 13 digs. The Highlanders fell to 3-22 overall, 0-12 in Big South play.

The Lady Bucs used a balanced attack to improve to 10-14 overall, and 4-9 in the conference. Junior Tori Owens led all hitters with 14 kills, while sophomore Jenni Shepherd added 12 of her own. Katie O’Riordan collected 32 assists for CSU.

Radford has two regular season matches left. RU will head to UNC Asheville on Thursday for a 7:00 pm match before returning home to face Liberty in the home finale on Saturday at 2:00 pm. The Lady Bucs will travel across town to face The Citadel on Nov. Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
