Volleyball Falls to Flames

LYNCHBURG, Va.--Liberty volleyball downed Radford in three games (30-26, 30-14, 30-23) Tuesday evening in Big South action at the Vines Center. (Box Score)

Liberty (3-16, 2-5 Big South) was led by Kristin Colson (Sr., S, Austin, Texas) who recorded a match-high 50 assists. Jennifer Belk (Sr., OH, Leander, Texas) posted 17 kills and 8 digs, while Becky Rudnick (Sr., MB, Chicago, Ill.) collected 11 kills and Lara Bartolomeo (Fr., S, Huntington Beach, Calif.) tallied 11 digs to lead the Lady Flames.

The Highlanders (3-14, 0-6) were led by Josie Hanners (Fr., S, Richmond, Va.) who collected 25 assists. Divona Cox (Jr., M, Virginia Beach, Va.) posted eight kills and Patricia Barth (Sr., OH, Virginia Beach, Va.) recorded eight digs.

For the match, Liberty outhit Radford, .271 to .065, as neither team hit well in the first game, but the Lady Flames finished up strong hitting .500 during game two and .342 in the final game.

Both the Lady Flames and Radford will face Birmingham-Southern this weekend. Liberty faces the Panthers Saturday at 2 p.m., while RU will plays them Sunday at 2 p.m.
