Highlanders Split with Lady Bucs
Charleston, S.C. --After being held to three hits in game one, Radford recorded 11 hits and rode another solid pitching performance from Breanna Felix (Spring Valley, Calif./Mount Miguel) in game two to win 6-1 and post a split with Charleston Southern. The Lady Bucs behind Amanda Noble's three hitter downed RU in game one, 5-1. In game two, the Highlanders scored one run in the third and exploded for five in the fourth to cruise to the win. Felix went the distance, allowing a run on four hits. She struck out eight and walked just one, winning her fourth straight start to even her record at 7-7. Offensively, was one of four Highlanders with two hits. She finished the game, 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Sara Beth Clayton (Chesapeake, Va./Louisburg College), Colleen Casey (Poquoson, Va./Poquoson) and Kristen Fredrick () also had a pair of hits. Danielle Tompkins (Newport News, Va./Woodside) chipped in with a double and two RBI. Game one saw CSU scored five runs in the first two innings and ride the pitching of Noble on their way to the win. Noble gave up a run, struck out four and walked four. Jennifer Bosley (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) suffered the loss, allowing five runs, three earned, on seven hits. She struck out six and walked three as she fell to 12-13. The Highlanders will head to Conway, S.C. tomorrow to face Coastal Carolina at 2 p.m. |
