Highlanders Add Hong Kong's Sayer

Radford, Va. --Radford’s men’s tennis head coach Mike Anderson announced the signing of Hong Kong native Martin Sayer to a National Letter-of-Intent for the 2005-06 season. Sayer is coming off an upset of No. 3 world ranked junior and clay court specialist Leonardo Mayer of Argentina in the first round of the French Open.

"Sayer’s win over the No. 3 world ranked junior at the French Open shows the promise and high expectations he brings to the Radford Tennis team," Anderson stated.

Sayer is the No. 25 ranked junior in the world and is ranked No. 6 in Asia, winning the National Open of Hong Kong this season. He will join the Highlanders this fall after completing the junior circuit season at Wimbledon and the United States Open.
