Hance Named BSC Top Scholar-Athlete, Frais, Hance, Rolfing Gain Individual HonorsLYNHCBURG, Va. - Liberty's Jose Gomez and Coastal Carolina coach Shaun Docking were named Player of the Year and Coach of the Year respectively in Big South Men's Soccer. The announcements were made at the League's annual Men's Soccer Awards Banquet, held here Tuesday evening. Docking led his team to a 11-4-1 overall record and a Conference regular season title. Gomez, Liberty's leading scorer, led the Flames to a third place finish in Conference. Coastal Carolina's Joseph Ngwenya earned the Rookie of the Year honors and Radford's Scott Hance was named the Scholar-Athlete for Men's Soccer. Also announced at the banquet were the first and second team All-Conference selections and the All-Academic Team. The awards banquet serves as the kick off for the 2000 Men's Soccer Championship, The first round games begin here Wednesday at 12:30 p.m at Liberty University Soccer Complex. Semifinals will be played Thursday beginning at 5:00 p.m. The title match is slated for Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Every match of the championship will be TotalCast on the Big South's website at www.BigSouthSports.com.
