Meador Named Big South Golfer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Radford sophomore men’s golfer Josh Meador (Glenn Allen, Va.) has been selected as the Choice Hotels Big South Men’s Golfer of the Week for events played March 31-April 6, it was announced today by the League office. He joins Birmingham-Southern freshman women’s golfer Emily Klein, who earned the women’s award.

Meador took home Medalist honors Tuesday at the Draper Valley Invitational to help the Highlanders finish third in the two-day event, their highest finish of the season. Meador shot a 2-under 142 (72-70), then shot a four on the playoff hole over Western Carolina’s Donald “Tripp” Morrow to win his first tournament as a Highlander. Earlier in the week, Meador was RU’s top finisher at the rain-shortened George Washington Invitational with a 3-over 75, tying for seventh-place.

Klein finished tied for second out of 69 golfers at the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational with a season-best 54-hole total of 216.
