Radford Suspends Four Players For Remainder of Season CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Radford has suspended four players for the remainder of the 2004-05 season men’s basketball coach Byron Samuels announced today. Juniors Whit Holcomb-Faye (Winston-Salem, N.C.), Chris Goodin (Springfield, Va.) and Tom Hayes (Fairfax, Va.) and freshman Branden Smith (Chesapeake, Va.) have all been suspended for a violation of team rules and athletic department policy. Radford has seven regular season games remaining. “It’s unfortunate, but we will move forward and try to produce the best product we absolutely can on and off the court,” Samuels said. The Highlanders (9-11, 4-5 Big South) are on the road and will face Charleston Southern Saturday night at 6:00 pm and Coastal Carolina Monday at 7:00 pm. Holcomb-Faye (Winston-Salem, N.C.) was averaging 15.1 points per game. Goodin was scoring 4.5 points per game while Smith averaged 1.5 points per game. Hayes, a walk-on, tallied 0.8 ppg in five games. |
