Former Student-Athletes Bell and Williamson Presented with 2005 Outstanding Student Awards

Radford, Va. -- Former student-athletes, Jenny Bell (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Kylie Williamson (Ankeny, Iowa), were presented with Radford University's 2005 Outstanding Student Awards. Bell, four-year member of the field hockey program from 2001-2004, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in accounting this spring. She was a four-time NFHCA Division I Academic Squad member and a recipient of Radford's Mah scholarship for having the highest GPA for a senior female athlete. On the field, Bell scored seven goals and recorded a pair of assists in 77 career matches for the Highlanders. She was also named second team All-Conference in 2004.

Williamson, a women's basketball standout from 2000-2004 graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2003 and earned a master's degree in Criminal Justice this spring. She was a 2004 Verizon Academic All-American All-DKylie Williamson (Foto International)istrict first team member and was named to the Big South's All-Academic Squad in 2002 and 2004. She concluded her basketball career after the 2003-04 season, leaving as RU's all-time three-point leader, making 203, which is also the second most in Big South Conference history. Williamson donned the Highlander uniform 114 times, making 90 starts, finished her career with 943 points, 161 assists and 149 steals in 114 games from the Highlanders.

The Outstanding Student Award is presented to students who have excelled in promoting the true spirit and ideals of Radford University.
