Highlanders Announce Nine 2005 Commitments

Radford, Va. -- Radford field hockey head coach Jeff Woods announced that nine high school athletes have committed to Radford University and will join the Highlander field hockey program this fall.

The incoming freshmen include:

Katherine Banas - Back – Tulsa, Okla./Holland Hall

Catherine Dailey – Midfielder/Forward – Virginia Beach, Va./Salem

Christine Fairchild – Midfielder/Back – Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton

Kristen Griffith – Midfielder – Allentown, Pa./Salisbury

Erica Lawrence – Forward/Midfielder – Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird

Holly LoJocano – Back – Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert

Stephanie McLamb – Forward – Gloucester, Va./Gloucester

Whitney Parker – Forward/Midfielder - Vienna, Va./Oakton

Alex Wladich – Midfielder – Manasquan, N.J./Wall

The Highlanders finished 9-11 overall and 6-0 in NorPac East, capturing their second East Division Championship in four years and recording their first undefeated Conference season in school history. Radford opens the 2005 campaign on Sunday, August 28 at Richmond.
