Wohlford, Mignogna Honored By Big South

CONWAY, S.C. -- Radford sophomore Steve Mignogna and senior Kellen Wohlford were both honored by the Big South Wednesday, with Wohlford garnering All-Conference honors and Mignogna being named to the All-Academic Team.

Wohlford, who played left fielder and first base for RU, batted .338, collecting a League-high six triples, with nine RBI and three home runs. He scored the game winner in Sunday’s thrilling ninth-inning win over VMI and committed just six errors in 236 chances for a .275 fielder percentage.

Mignogna was recently awarded the prestigious McGowan scholarship by the RU College of Business and Economics and was a nominee for the NCAA Leadership Conference. The marketing major has been a Dean's List member for five semesters and is a Big South Presidential Honor Roll member.

RU dropped the first game of the 2005 Bojangles Big South Conference Tournament to top-seeded Coastal Carolina, 9-1 on Wednesday afternoon. The Highlanders will face the winner between VMI and Winthrop Thursday at 11 am.
