Three Highlanders Named to All-Conference Teams

Birmingham, Ala. --At the 2004 Big South Softball Awards Banquet, Radford had three players named to the All-Conference teams. Junior Kat Peck (Manassas, Va./Young Harris College) was honored as the first team designated player. Freshman pitcher Breanna Felix (Spring Valley, Calif./Mount Miguel) and junior centerfielder Sara Beth Clayton (Chesapeake, Va./Louisburg College) were named to the second team.

All Conference First Team

Peck batted .270 with four doubles, three triples, a homerun and 17 RBI and has currently reached base safely in her last 11 games. Felix posted an 11-8 record, 4-2 in Big South games, with 106 strikeouts in 120.1 innings of work and is 7-1 in her last 10 starts. Clayton led the team with 37 RBI, six triples and four home runs and was second on the squad with a .287 batting average, 12 doubles and 49 hits.

All Conference Second Team

Also, sophomore Lindsay Woody (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) was named to the Academic All-Conference team.

The fourth-seeded Highlanders open up the Big South Conference Championships on Thursday, May 13 against Tournament host and fifth-seeded. Birmingham-Southern at 11 a.m. CDT. Should Radford win, they would face top seed Texas A&M Corpus-Christi at 7 p.m. CDT.
